Matthew “Matt” Bourda is Senior Counsel at The Lane Law Firm, PLLC and a commercial bankruptcy and restructuring attorney whose practice focuses on complex Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Subchapter V matters. He represents trustees, creditors, debtors, and other stakeholders in sophisticated insolvency proceedings involving contested plan confirmations, avoidance and preference litigation, executory contract disputes, administrative expense claims and corporate governance issues. Matt previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jeff Bohm (Ret.), United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Texas.
His practice frequently involves high value matters that require the integration of legal strategy, financial analysis and business considerations. He advises trustees and creditors on claim strategy, asset recovery, estate preservation and plan enforcement, including matters involving the energy sector and other operationally complex businesses. While in law school, Matt served as Editor in Chief of the Thurgood Marshall Law Review from 2015 to 2016.
In his free time, Matt enjoys cooking, playing Monopoly, all things Star Wars and spending time with family and friends. He is also a member of the Krewe of Endymion in New Orleans, Louisiana.
